My name is Thomas Edward Jackson and I am Asst.

Director of Marine (Ships Surveys). Provided effid ent

gangways are in position the means of egress from the

main deck of the "Kwong Tung" when lying at a wharf are

in every way ample.

The "Kwong Tung" was last surveyed on the 21st

July, 1947. She holds the prescribed certificate fully

covering the nature of her voyages.

The certificate provides for 766 passengers and a

crew of 64.

The damage to the vessel as a direct result of

the fire would be about 10 dollars.

The foregoing is a true record

of the evidence I have given.
